Bethany Church

(Our Missions page will feature events where the primary goal is to serve others outside our church family.)

Keeping up on Tithes and Offerings

"But just as you excel in everything - in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us - see that you also excel in this grace of giving."  2 Cor. 8:7 (NIV)

The Stewardship Team wishes to remind everyone who fell behind in their pledges this spring / summer to catch up and keep up.  We need for everyone to keep current with their pledges in order to meet our financial needs and obligations. Just like at home, most of Bethany’s expenses are fixed in nature and are very similar month after month.  If you are traveling or otherwise unable to attend services, please feel free to drop off a check (specially marked) or to mail your gifts to the church.  Mail checks to: Bethany Church, 1375 Hiller Rd., Waterford, MI 48329.

Indirect Giving

By making purchases through these programs, Bethany receives a percentage of the sale which will go to Bethany’s programs and missions. When utilizing these programs, please purchase only items that you would buy anyway. If you desire to give to the church or one of our missions, a direct gift is always the most effective method.

SCRIP IS HERE AND HERE TO STAY!!
By Julie Patterson

Bethany began a SCRIP program in April as a fundraiser to earn money to support our budget.  Everyone is encouraged to participate.  You purchase the items you normally would – and Bethany gets a percentage.  This is planned to be an ongoing fundraiser with the potential of raising several thousand dollars this year.

Here’s how it works. You purchase scrip (gift cards) through Bethany to use for your regular shopping: groceries, gas, restaurants, etc.  Orders are collected each Sunday, and the Scrip is delivered the following Sunday. Order blanks are available in the bulletin and at Grand Central. Our order blank gives commonly used establishments, but hundreds of other retailers are available.  The Scrip Website – www.glscrip.com gives names and details.  You may order any of them.

Most scrip is good for a year.  However, you should check the website for specifics on each retailer.  When your card runs out, reorder through Bethany.  ONLY the Kroger card can be refilled by the individual user.

Scrip Team Representatives-- Amy Nelson, Joyce Hice and Julie Patterson, will be available each Sunday at Grand Central to accept your orders or answer your questions.  Watch for the “Scrip Tip of the Week” in the Sunday bulletin.  We hope you will participate with us.

Note: Meijer Rewards is changing. Check back for details! By obtaining a Meijer Community Rewards card and scanning it when you purchase most items at Meijer, a percentage of the sale will go to Bethany. This is a great way to help Bethany’s programs and missions!

The first step is to join. You may pick up an application at the church or join online HERE. Make sure that you enter 675106 as the Organization 6-Digit number. The card will be sent out to you in 2-3 weeks. Once you get it, when you shop at Meijer, make sure you have the card scanned. That’s all there is to it! Feel welcome to encourage your family and friends to join the program.
