Bethany Church

Stewardship Team

Our Mission is to educate and foster a spirit of stewardship among the congregation to support the ministries of Bethany.

Scripture:

II Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.

Annual Pledge Drive

Our annual pledge drive will begin November 2 and run through November 19.  Expect a letter in the mail along with a pledge card.  Please return it by November 19. We’ll also be working on a proposed 2007 budget during November.

33 Days of Stewardship Program Starts October 8

33 dos

Beginning the week of October 8, Bethany will be participating in a church wide program called "33 Days of Stewardship."  For 5 weeks we will explore the 33 Laws of Stewardship in the following ways:

Reading a chapter (3 to 5 pages) in the book The 33 Laws of Stewardship each day for 33 days (books available at Grand Central beginning Oct. 1)

Following the 33 Days of Stewardship Discovery Guide each day for 33 days (10 minutes a day)

Using the Small Group materials for five weeks in our classes and small groups

Focusing our worship services for five Sundays on the important work of stewardship

We believe that it is important to have a season of prayer, study, and worship on this important spiritual discipline.  Please be in prayer that God will bless this special emphasis.

Please Keep Current

The Stewardship Team wishes to remind everyone who fell behind in their pledges this summer to catch up and keep up.  We need for everyone to keep current with their pledges in order to meet our financial needs and obligations.  Thank you.

Christmas Gift Box for Bethany

Many of you give an extra financial gift to Bethany each Christmas in the special envelopes that are provided.  In light of our financial situation this year, we thought we’d put a little pizzazz into our Bethany Christmas gift drive.

So this year, look for a shiny gold gift box that will be located under our sanctuary’s Christmas tree.  This special box will have a slot for your Christmas gift to Bethany.  Givers can place their gift envelopes in the box at any time – before church, after church, or even in the collection plate (ushers will put them in the gift box).

Here’s your gift-giving challenge—how much do you spend on all the Christmas gifts you buy each year?  $200 - $500 - $1000 – more?  Take that amount and consider writing a check to Bethany for 10% of your total Christmas spending.  Like a friend or member of the family, Bethany is a name you’ll want to add to your Christmas list this year.
