Bethany Church

Missions Team

Help Bethany serve others outside our family as an expression of Christ's love.

Scripture:
Matthew 25:35
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.”

Crop Walk
By Sandy Lewis

On October 3rd, Bethany was well represented at the WATERFORD CROP WALK by Ida McCutcheon, Louise Aebersold, Tim and Julie Patterson, Don Sturdevant, Gene and Sandy Lewis, Don Love, Dave and Ellen Whitehead, Al and Lottie Jespersen, and James and Susan Bolin.  James and Susan were there to give moral support and to cheer for Bethany. Don Sturdevant and Al  Jespersen were on safety detail and the rest of us walked through the beautiful fall afternoon.

Our efforts were rewarded with having raised over $800 for this mission project.  Thanks to all who participated in the actual walk and those who supported us with pledges.  When final figures are, in your mission team will let you know the exact amount Bethany collected as well as the total for the Waterford community.

Updates and “Hoorays”
from Mission Concerns

CROP Walk
We fielded 10 walkers:  Louise Aebersold, Gene & Sandy Lewis, Don Love, Lottie Jespersen, Ida McCutcheon, Tim & Julie Patterson and Dave & Ellen Whitehead.  Al Jespersen & Don Sturdevant were the course marshals.

Thank you to our Crop Recruiter/Chairperson, Sandy Lewis, who turned in a total of $820 of pledges from Bethany.  Hooray!!!!

World Mission Offering
As of October 24 we have collected $1040 in offerings.  That’s great, but I am hopeful will we attain our goal of $1500 by the end of the month.

Holiday Season 2010
November & December are the months that we can show our gratitude by putting even more emphasis on giving to those who are hurting and in need.   There are several ways in which you can do this:

Buy extra food, especially items for putting together holiday meals.  We now have a freezer in the storage room off the fellowship hall (thank you Roy and Becky Langolf) in which we can store the turkey that you might want to donate.
Buying mittens, hats and scarves for the Mitten Tree
Buying blankets to put beneath the Blanket Tree

Choose the way(s) in which you can be a blessing to others in the upcoming season.  Thank you for helping us help others.
