Family Ministry Team

To create the opportunity for parents to teach children to become fully devoted followers of Christ.

The Faith Chest
A Chest filled with Faith Milestones

The Faith Chest was envisioned to hold milestones that have been established throughout the Christian walk of our children. We believe that beginning with the birth of a child and commencing with graduation from high school important Christian events take place in that childs life. These events needed to be recorded/documented for safe keeping. Thus, the Faith Chest.

The chest will be given at birth and is for each child to hold the memories and momentum’s they received at Bethany and hopefully someday to pass this along to their children. As a child reaches a particular age or grade, at that time they will be presented with the Milestone appropriate for them.

Each milestone is an opportunity for Bethany to walk alongside parents as they teach their children how to be fully devoted followers of Christ. The milestones are listed below:

Faith – a noun; fidelity to one’s promises; something that is believed, especially with strong conviction.

Chest – a noun; a container for storage; a box with a lid used especially for the safekeeping of belongings.

Funding a project is always a challenge. We received a grant from Detroit Baptist Union to cover part of the cost for the Faith Chest. With this grant this and the of these efforts of many individuals, we are able to give a Faith Chest to all Bethany children from birth to kindergarten. If you wish to purchase a chest or any of these other items for your children, grandchildren, etc., then order forms are available or see any Family Team member.

This is an exciting time. This is an emotional project. We know that what has been offered is helping to guide our children on the path of a Christian life. They will now be able to open their very own Faith Chest and reflect on the steps that they took toward becoming a Christian adult. Your support in this effort is vital. Your Family Team appreciates everything you do.

  Trivia Night!
 
Bethany’s first ever Trivia Night was a great success. It was a great night of fun and laughter had by all.  Thanks to all who came out to play and help. You all made the evening a great success. The Family Team was able to raise a little over $500.00 for their Faith Chest project. Thank you!
