TEAM SUNDAY – January 15
On Sunday, January 15 our 13 ministry teams will shine! During worship, we will talk about how it is exactly that the church is the Body of Christ. After worship, you will be invited to explore the team displays which will show you what each team does. This is important because, here at Bethany, anyone can join any ministry team. (Only Team Leaders are elected by the congregation.) Members and friends of Bethany are encouraged to discover which team matches their passion for service. Then, all you have to do is join your dream team and be a part of the Bethany ministry. So, come find out about how we use teams to do the work of the Body of Christ at Bethany. Remember, “there is one body, and you are all members of it” (I Corinthians 12:27).

Bethany Recycles!
Bethany re-cycles paper to collection bins benefiting Waterford Schools. We also collect spent batteries which are re-cycled by Ron Joyner. Soon we will also have a plastic bins.
Please donate your USED PRINTER CARTRIDGES to Bethany. Josh Nelson is able to turn these items into useful equipment and supplies for the church office, thus saving the church money. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference!

Bethany Book Club - Meeting January 20
You might want to ask Santa for our January book. We will be reading and discussing Stones from the River by Ursula Hegi recommended by Lottie Jespersen. Stones from the River is a daring, dramatic and complex novel of life in Germany. It is set in Burgdorf, a small fictional German town, between 1915 and 1951. The protagonist is Trudi Montag, a Zwerg -- the German word for dwarf woman. As a dwarf she is set apart, the outsider whose physical "otherness" has a corollary in her refusal to be a part of Burgdorf's silent complicity during and after World War II. Trudi establishes her status and power, not through beauty, marriage, or motherhood, but rather as the town's librarian and relentless collector of stories.
The location of the club meeting and the date and time are to follow! We hope you will get a copy to read and join us for a great discussion.

New “Kids” Programs !!!
Your Christian Education Team has launched new children’s programs. In lieu of the segregated Sunday School experience, children K – 5 will gather together for an inter-grade experience of singing, learning Bible Stories, and artistic expression which could include acting out the stories, drawings, making up songs, caring for others, creative prayer time, and more. We are calling our inter-grade gathering “BREAKFAST WITH THE BIBLE.” Kids can come and enjoy a breakfast treat and learn a Bible story each time they are able to come to church on Sundays at 9:30 AM.
For those who can’t (or won’t) come to the Sunday School for “BREAKFAST WITH THE BIBLE”, we are offering a one hour program for children on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM called “DESSERT WITH JESUS”. Children can come and enjoy a dessert snack and hear/act out/or sing a story about Jesus from the Gospels. The format will resemble the Sunday format, but different material will be covered.
Can your children or grandchildren come to BOTH? Yes! Take advantage of these opportunities to anchor the young ones in the Bible and our Christian Faith.
