Outdoor Worship/Church Picnic - August 8

Have you ever worshiped at a park?  Well, on August 8, we will hold our worship service at Hess-Hathaway Park (on Williams Lake Road) followed by our annual church picnic.  We will gather at 10:30 AM at the big pavilion.  Bring lawn chairs, drinks, and a dish to share.  Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided—or grill your own meat.  Games!  Fun!  A Bounce House!  Snow Cones!  More!

Bethany Book Club

Our book for July is The Romance of Atlantis by Taylor Caldwell.  While fiction, it offers some interesting comparisons to our world today.  We will meet to discuss this book on July 16 at 9:15 AM at Andy Pepper’s.  (5700 Water Tower Place – Clarkston, MI)
Gilead by Marilynne Robinson will be our August book.  This is a Pulitzer Prize winner with many rave reviews.

Summer Fun with Gather & Grow

The ladies at Bethany will be getting together for summer craft nights.  Each craft night will feature one craft project.  Watch the Sunday bulletins for the featured crafts and sign up at Grand Central.  The nights will be 7/14, 7/21, 8/11 and 8/18.  If you are not a crafter feel free to come for some wonderful fellowship.

The ladies will also be going to Shepherd’s Hollow for lunch on Saturday, August 14.  Please contact Nancy Maxfield or Amy Nelson if you would like to attend.

Deacons Offering Healing Prayers

On the 2nd & 4th Mondays of each month, the Pastor and Deacons will be available in the sanctuary to offer prayers for anyone who desires prayer for any reason.  An anointing with oil will be available if desired. 12:30 PM - April  12.

Our deacons are offering spiritual counseling and prayer each Sunday upon the conclusion of Worship.  The Deacon of the Day will meet with anyone desiring personal prayer at the front of the sanctuary by the piano.  Our Deacons are:  Nona Bos, Bob Hunt, and Rodger Zeller.

Support Camp Lael

Bethany Church has a history of sending a large number of children, teens and families to Camp Lael. Camp Lael needs support to retire debt, create a reserve fund and to make capital improvements to strengthen the position of the camp to do ministry on into the future. Please visit the website www.savecamplael.com and learn about how you can be helpful in our efforts.
